Prof. Mina Weinstein-Evron is the co-director of the Misliya Cave Project and the director of the excavations at the site since 2001. In the last 20 years Mina Weinstein-Evron has been directing excavations in two sites of the Nahal Me'arot cliff, Mount Carmel: Jamal Cave (late Lower Paleolithic) and el-Wad Cave and terrace (Natufian).  Her recent research has focused on two main issues of Levantine prehistoric research: The search for the makers of the early Middle Paleolithic cultural remains at Misliya Cave and the unveiling of the Natufian habitation at el-Wad, a sedentary hunter-gatherer hamlet on the threshold of agriculture.
